The Moira Trilogy (2/3)

She’s back! Straight-talking single mum Moira Bell returns in a new installment of Alan Bissett’s much-loved one-woman show. Moira’s a gran now, but still telling hilarious home-truths about dating, her estranged sister, cleaning posh folk’s hooses, the return of her ex Billy, and Brexit.

Winner: Fringe First

Shortlist: Best New Play at Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS)

"A near-perfect series of new monologues, both howlingly funny and unnervingly sharp and poetic"
Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman
"Such a riot my ears popped a couple of times from the row behind me shouting with laughter"
The National
"Welcome back, Moira. We missed you."
Broadway Baby
“Great hilarity, simple truths and some profound moments too: it’s no wonder Moira has such a loyal following.”
The List

The Moira Trilogy

The Moira Trilogy is made up of three plays which have independently had a successful runs and garnered positive responses and connections with audiences. The Moira Monologues have been performed across the country in the Traverse Theatre, the Citizens Theatre, Manchester’s Royal Exchange, Oran Mor, The Lemon Tree and Eden Court as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

But for the first time, Bissett is performing the shows as a trilogy all in one evening. Together they not only form a hilarious, rip-roaring three-hour 'one woman show' but also provide a social history of the Scottish working-class from 2009-2022; all to the backdrop of the finanicial crash, the independence referendum, Brexit, Trump, and Covid-19 as experienced by Falkirk's Hardest Woman.

Each play is one hour long and will feature an interval afterwards. Each play can be booked separately.
