Fèis an Iar Dheas is an arts organization providing traditional music experiences for young people across Dumfries and Galloway and in this year’s offering of Fèis:the Music, youngsters and “oldies” alike combine to produce an extravaganza of Scottish and Gaelic songs and melodies.
Featuring musicians and singers from all corners of the county, the concert promises to be a foot-tapping, hand-clapping afternoon of traditional entertainment.
A follow-on from the ever-growing in popularity Fèis day at Lincluden school, primary and secondary pupils will be playing and singing alongside professional musicians and guest artists.
The programme includes a variety of instrumental performances with pipes, fiddle, guitar, harp and band groups contributing to a celebration of Scottish culture and language throughout the ages. Young award-winning singer Rose Byers will be hitting the high notes whilst well-renowned, international harpist Wendy Stewart will be plucking pure, clear sounds.
The afternoon ends with a grand finale of all participants singing with the audience welcome to join in. Time for you to Feis:the Music
