Completing the lineup is Samira Banks, winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition, with the accomplished Jay Lafferty as MC. *Line-up is subject to change in exceptional circumstances. In the event of a line-up alteration, a performer of similar calibre will be added.
Chloe Petts is “one of the most compelling young comics” (Brian Logan, The Guardian) and “clearly a rising star whose name will soon be in lights” (Bruce Dessau, The Evening Standard). Petts’ TV credits include ‘Have I Got News For You’ (BBC 1), as well as ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC) and ‘Bake Off: An Extra Slice’ (Channel 4). They have also appeared on the ‘Off Menu’ podcast, and co-hosted ‘The Guilty Feminist’.
Ian Smith has appeared on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Have I Got News For You’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ and ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’. He is a regular on BBC Radio 4’s ‘The News Quiz’, which he guest hosted this year, and his own Radio 4 stand-up series, ‘Ian Smith is Stressed’. Also a talented actor, Smith has also appeared in ‘The Ark’, ‘Officially Special’, ‘The Emily Atack Show’, ‘Siblings’, ‘Pls Like’ and ‘The Syndicate’.
A standout new talent who has already supported Sarah Keyworth, Olga Koch and Amy Matthews on tour, Ayo Adenekan is one to watch. Now a writer for ‘SNL UK’, he has previously won the Best Newcomer at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards and the Bestie Award for Emerging Talent. His debut sold out its entire Edinburgh Fringe run, with three extra shows added.
Samira Banks is an exciting new comedic talent of middle eastern heritage. She has been making waves on the UK circuit since bursting on to the scene after winning the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? Competition in 2023. Banks has also been a finalist in competitions such the Sean Lock Awards, and has appeared on TV as part of the BBC New Comedy Awards. A personal highlight for her was opening for Stephen Merchant’s WIP.
Sought after for her on point satirical views Jay Lafferty has become a regular face on BBC Scotland’s television channel. It was a performance on BBC’s ‘Breaking The News’ that saw Lafferty hit the front page of The New York Times for her on point description of Theresa May’s catastrophic handling of the Brexit deal. Her Edinburgh Fringe 2019 hit solo show Jay Lafferty: Jammy was made into a BBC Radio Scotland three part series - ‘Jay’s Jammy’. During the pandemic alongside the rest of the world Jay took her work online performing comedy all over the world from the comfort of her living room while continuing to be a regular voice on BBC ‘Breaking The News’.
