Guild of Players presents Spring & Port Wine written by Bill Naughton, directed by Sandy McDougall. 
Spring and Port Wine is a drama with comedy. It centres around the Crompton family who live in Lancashire in the mid 1960s. The head of the household, Rafe Crompton, is very particular about how his house is run and his wife and four children struggle to keep to his ideals. The drama of the play revolves around an incident when the family’s younger daughter, Hilda, refuses to eat a herring for dinner and the tension it creates. The question is how the family resolves the issue.
