SIR WALTER SCOTT IN MUSIC AND OPERA

An ensemble of eight singers accompanied by the UK’s leading string orchestra, Scottish Ensemble perform scenes inspired by the novels of Sir Walter Scott.

Sir Walter Scott’s poetry and novels had a profound influence on music throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Featuring a cast of rising stars from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as local soprano Claudia Wood and pianist Conal Bembridge-Sayers, this rich and varied evening will take you through some of the most intriguing and entertaining music to be inspired by the great writer’s works, including dramatic and romantic sounds by Bizet, Rossini and Berlioz.
