The Power Behind The Crone - Written and performed by Alison Skilbeck, directed by Tim Hardy

“There are no good parts in Shakespeare for older women.”

Professor Artemis Turret, played by Alison Skilbeck, sets out to refute these words in an illustrated lecture. Her old chum, international star Dame Bunti Smart, who was to perform the speeches, lets her down. Professor Turret is forced to unveil her own hidden theatrical talents in seven wildly contrasting roles.

The Power Behind The Crone opened the 2016 RADA Festival, played the Bloomsbury Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe at Assembly. Other shows from Skilbeck include Mrs Roosevelt Flies to London, which had a near sold out 2016 tour and Edinburgh Fringe run at Assembly, has received 5 star reviews, and garnered her an Off West End (Offie) Award Nomination for Best Actress, and Are There More of You? which also received 5 star reviews.
